Trimix Diver Level I and 2

scuba diving in cozumel, mexicoThe NAUI Trimix program trains technical divers in the use of oxygen/helium/nitrogen gas mixtures (Tri Mix). Students will be able to plan a deep dive utilizing the best choice in gas balancing the Maximum Operating Depth and Equivalent Air Depth to reduce you risk to potential hazards of deep diving. The two classes of Trimix - Normoix and Hypoxic will be utilized in planning your dives.

The Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM) will be utilized in planning all dives. The modern dual phase approach to decompression theory allows divers to use the latest findings in planning safe decompression dives.

The academic presentation will emphasizes advanced decompression theory and management, gas mixing, diving physics and physiology, oxygen exposure management and dive planning.

Open Water session include rigorous review of fundamental skills, proper equipment selection and configuration, detailed dive team communications and emergency management.

Level 1 – 4 dives, two dives below 180’

Level 2 – Additional two dives below 200’

*Dives are to be in varied environment

Prerequisites for the NAUI Trimix Diver Program
• Minimum age of 21 years old
• Medical clearance and physically fit
• Nonsmoker
• Minimum of 100 logged dives in varying environments with at least 20
(beyond certification) decompression dives.
• Certification and experience at the NAUI Technical Diver Program.
